Oh, the things you can do with a faux cabbage!
Dabbling with artichokes...

After disassembling an artichoke (ouch!) , I painted the inside of a small papier-mache box green, then glued the artichoke leaves around the box in concentric rings. The handle is just honeysuckle vines cut into 12" lengths and twirled around a bit and hot glued in place. Couldn't be easier. Of course, I dusted it with a bit of fairy dust for that little extra something! Let me know what you all think...
On a scale of 1 to 10, today is a 20 !!!!!
I am soooo glad I decided to take a lunch break today. The lilacs are at their absolute peak, the wisteria is bursting its britches and it is one of those "great-to-be-alive-days". As I stroll thru my yard, I can't help but realize how incredibly lucky I am to be surrounded by such beauty. I intend to drink it all in...

Lunch was reasonably satisfying. I devoured a nice, sensible turkey sandwich and a glass of milk. Then, just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I remembered a dark secret lurking in my freezer. A David Glass "Ultimate Chocolate Truffle Cake" was screaming to me, pulling me into its velvety web. For one, fleeting moment, I thought of my wonderful Weight Watcher's Leader, and how she would have advised me to redirect myself, reign myself in, and forget the cake demon. I, of course, put away a sizeable hunk along with another sensible glass of milk. It just doesn't get any better than this...
Days like this must be etched in one's mind...this peak of perfection might not come again for at least a year. Not too hot, not too cool, no bugs...and chocolate...heaven in my garden.
And this is one scene that CANNOT be improved upon by adding glitter!
Hope you can stroll thru your garden, whether in the flesh, looking out a window or just in your mind!

Hope you are able to get outside to enjoy this spectacular weather! I wish I could take my glittering outside...but alas...the glue dries way too fast and my glitter blows away when a gust sneaks up!!!
Sending you all my happiest wishes for SPRING !!!

Martha & me...
Hot off the press...Take a look at this...The Glitter Fairy (or Glitter Lady, as Martha likes to call me!) on Wednesday's Martha show glittering away... Fun, fun fun! You can watch both segments or click on either one individually, plus print out written instructions for the glittered bunny bouquets, cabbage baskets or veggie napkin rings! Isn't technology great?!!! I still haven't seen the segments on a real TV yet, only on the teensy weensy computer screen but I am thrilled to see that I didn't trip on my high heels!
I still haven't caught up on my sleep and I've been busy filling orders but wanted to share this with all of you.
FYI: My sweet pals helped to doll me up a bit...My gorgeous robin's egg blue jacket was from my friend Stacy of The Worth Collection and the gold bracelet was from my dear friend, Faye of Faye Kim Designs in Westport, CT. Thanks, guys! You made me feel absolutely beautiful!
I'm too exhausted to go into much detail tonight and will eventually write about my wonderful Martha adventure...but until then, let me say it was...
A M A Z I N G ! ! !
Gotta go finish some glittering...

The Martha Chronicles
FYI - The Feb 1 segments were running on Martha's website www.marthastewart.com for a while but with the new website design, they aren't up and running yet. I am told they will be back soon... and you should be able to see my current segments right after the show on Wednesday.

Cabbage Basket and other Spring Goodies
By the way, the sweet cabbage basket you see below will be for sale on my online shop right after my Martha appearance. Visit my store at www.glitterworksstudio.etsy.com. It would look great as a place marker for a Spring dinner or brunch or as an Easter decoration around the house. I will customize the banner with a name or "happy spring", "spring has sprung" or leave it blank so you can write in a name. I also have chick & duckling boxes, garlands and other Spring stuff. Everything is hand made by me in very limited quantities. Gotta go glitter something...Enjoy! TGF
Happy weekend!!!!

The birth of a blog...

Hello world!
Greetings from GlitterWorksStudio!
Spring has finally sprung ...and I am ready to have some fun getting to know all of you and sharing glittery project ideas.
The studio here is hopping with activity as we make our Spring & Easter products ( you can see some of my stuff on my online shop at www.glitterworksstudio.etsy.com ). Today the glitter is literally flying in every direction! I love my job!
FYI - I'm also getting ready to appear on The Martha Stewart Show next Wednesday. So much to do...so little time... (I can sleep next month!) I will be making a sweet Bunny Bouquet Centerpiece, a cabbage basket place setting marker and veggie napkin rings with Martha! Fun! And...you guessed it, they all have glitter on them. You'll be able to view my segments on Martha's website www.marthastewart.com once they post them. My last appearance on 2/1 was a dream come true. We did some Valentine's Day projects. Martha and her entire staff were amazing. Can't wait to go back!
Please take a moment to visit my website at www.glitterworksstudio.com to see my other seasonal designs. We are currently updating the site to include my online store info as well as my retail store info.
Take a minute right now to go outside and breathe in some Spring !
Stay tuned....
Ciao from The Glitter Fairy
