A wonderful time was had by all...

We had such fun on Saturday at our Trunk Show
at The Elegant Setting in Southampton.
The shop is gorgeous and is filled with the most wonderful things,
from exquisite china & crystal & linens
to velvet pencils and monogrammed notepads.

I was thrilled to be at the front of the house
to greet everyone with a glittery smile.

And speaking of smiles, the owner, Stephanie,
couldn't have been more welcoming to us
and introduced us to all her wonderful clients.

Stephanie is a master at finding the perfect gift
for her discerning clients.

Kate's bags from Sharp Hill Designs absolutely lit up the shop.

Kate and I stopped for a quick photo op...

Glitter, glitter, everywhere!

It was a perfect shop, perfect customers,
a perfect day...

Thanks, Stephanie!

p.s. I'm pleased to tell you that Stephanie will be featuring
my silver glittered fruit ornaments and perching glitterdoves
in her holiday windows this year.
What an honor!
It will be exquisite...

I savored the evening...

Last night, I attended a wonderful Savor the Success event in NYC,
hosted by founders Angela Jia Kim (pictured above)
and co-founder and husband, Mark.
There were approximately 60 amazing women
enjoying dinner and networking,
while enjoying the view from 32 stories up

I made some new entrepreneurial friends
and our speaker,

shared tips on
how to package our products
when pitching to editors and the media.

I adore NYC and especially enjoyed the ride in with dear friends,
and the ride home with the aforementioned
and two new friends, Robin and Nancy.
Lively conversation added to an already terrific evening!

Savor the Success is a dynamic organization full of
accomplished entrepreneurial women
and provides priceless information and support.
I'm so glad to have STS in my toolbox!

It's back to the glitter mines for me today, however...
(I'm working on some gorgeous sea critters,
frames and glittered beachy notecards
for Saturday's Southampton
glitter extravaganza...)

Gone to the dogs...er...cats...

Had the most fun working last week
on a simple project
for NewsChannel 12's
Pet Talk with Lauren Collier.
The segment will be airing
this weekend at multiple times.

Here is my sweet Teddy,
modeling a glittery cheetah number!
You really can't see the glitter much in this picture, but I highlighted
each spot with a dash of chocolate
brown glitter for a bit of sparkle.

As you can see, Teddy was not pleased.
(He doesn't wear clothes...)

Cleo was a bit more patient,
but rather grumpy
in her lovely pink camo bandana
highlighted with
a touch of pink glitter.
(Cleo does grumpy soooo well.)

And my dear BabyCat
cooperated quite nicely
with my photographic insanity.
She is my supermodel...

(I may have to start paying her...)

Fortunately, I found some willing
canine models, Lilly and Bonnie,
and their sweet mom, Pam.

Lilly and Pam are sporting
the lovely "Mother & Daughter"
glittered black & white
zebra print, with just a touch
of silver glitter.
Pam cleverly twisted her bandana
into a nifty headband.

Quite fetching don't ya think?

Of course, what Lilly really wanted
to do was
roll and roll and roll....

What fun we all had...

Try to catch the show this weekend.

See my Sea-critters in their new home!

My new buddy, Kate Sargent
of Sassy Smox
recently ordered some of
my glittery sea critters
and was kind enough to share this wonderful picture of how she used
them on a wreath
for her beach house.
You can read her 4/21/10 blog post
here.
(FYI - Kate makes the most
wonderful & sassy aprons.
You MUST check out her
blog and website!)

  The lobbies, crabs,
seahorses and sand dollars
were painted white,
then covered in
a sheer transparent glitter
with a bit of a blue sheen.
Don't they look great?

Now I need to make a wreath
full of glitter critters
so I can feel like
I'm at the beach, too!

All my glittery best,

A perfect Spring day in Central Park...

New York never ceases to amaze me,
and Central Park was absolutely
b-u-r-s-t-i-n-g
with color this week!

This tree was incredibly billowy
and voluptuous.

The tulips were perfection...

This maple was positively glowing green.
(I love it when the leaves are newborn..)

My favorite color...fuscia.
Isn't nature amazing?

And isn't this combo of narcissus, red tulips and fern just delicious?

I've already made a whole bunch
of these images
into a new card line,
Spring in Central Park Collection.

The crowning event was tonight, however, when my sweet hubby brought in
the most intoxicating
bunch of lilacs from the garden.
I was/am completely knocked out!

Hope you have a chance to get outside in your own neighborhood and take in nature's gift.

Summer's almost here...

Time to start thinking about warm weather and beachy fun!

I shipped these glittered beauties out recently to their new homes.

These white ones below without ribbons will be used on a boxwood wreath.
I will post pics when I get some.

Lobsters, crabs, sea stars, sand dollars, seahorses...we've got 'em all.

Hang at the beach house,

or your own house to make it feel like a beach house...

or give one as a hostess gift when you visit someone else's beach house!

(Oooh...I can feel the sand under my toes already...)

One of my most favorite projects....

Came across this photo today and it brought back
some wonderful memories.

This is actually a rather famous cabbage basket,
having been on The Martha Stewart Show
for an Easter segment I did a while back.
It was such fun showing Martha how to make this.

Here's the link if you'd like to watch Martha & me in action.
Both written instructions and video are there,
so you can make some of these sweet baskets for yourself...
They are perfect at a place setting, filled with candy eggs
or perhaps a chocolate bunny.

I created it out of a faux cabbage, a small round box, twig garland,
some excelsior shred, and of course, glitter.

I think it is my favorite of all my Martha projects.
(Martha actually used some of them on her own Easter table
at home after the show!)
I still have a few of them and think I will put them out on my table for Easter.

Maybe I'll make some more...hmmmm...

Ah, memories...

I repeat...When I die, I'm coming back as Teddy...

This afternoon, as we were all scurrying at top speed around the studio,
glittering & packing product & eating chocolate chip cookies (he he),
we couldn't help but notice our supervisor, Teddy McSnouterson,
relaxing in a most provocative pose!
He spends the better part of each day nestled on a blankie
which he has worked down into the crevice of the couch cushions.
Really should send this one into CuteOverload!
Love my kittykat...

Winter Wonderful-land

This was one of those
"ya gotta get outside and capture this image"
kind of days.

We get this type of snowfall only occasionally.
You know, the kind that coats absolutely every twig and leaf
with glittery goodness.
(sigh...)
Very lucky to be surrounded by such beauty...
